Lucille:

My maiden name is Frazier (Anglicized)but the actual name
is Frégeau (French)from the Province of Quebec area.

Fraser intends to be Scottish.... BUT not necessarily so.
--
You will need to do some research....
--
There were some in :
Canada's Maritimes (both French and Scots)
Province of Quebec (both French and Scots)
there was a migration of Canadians about 1850's
to 1870's looking for work in New England when
the industral age started up (mills)....
of course it's possible they (yours) didnt migrate
from Canada at all.
---
It is an easy boat trip to and from Wiscasset to Boston...
and most early settlers did travel by boat.
--
Wiscasset is in Lincoln Co. and the
OLD name for Wiscasset was Pownalborough (name changed 1802)..

Would suggest you start here.....if they cannot help
you....ASK THEM where to find information you need.
