My mind wanders back to baby tending. This is definitely an around the clock
deal. I love my children dearly but the sheer physicality of taking care of
them was overwhelming at times. My daughters are less than a year apart. It
seems all I did was feed them, change them and rock them. Hopefully, I could
get both of them sleeping at the same time. This rarely happened in the first
year or so. A mother's clock is wound so tight even her sleep is different.
Ever vigilant with one ear cocked at all times waiting for the cry. I, like
millions of others, got through it but sleep was a beautiful thing. Sharon K.
