My daughter, Tracey, almost always says I love you mom when we're through
talking on the phone. It makes me feel good! Sharon K.

In growing up, my family NEVER said I love you. I never said it to my
parents nor they to me. They showed their love to me in different ways, but
never with the actual words.
When I married, it was easy to tell my husband that I loved him. He didn't
always say the words back to me, but usually with "me too". I'm sure I told
my kids at different times that I loved them, but it wasn't an every day
happening.
When John died, my younger son had been at our house for a couple of days
but had to go home for a couple of days to do some things. He left, then after
just getting up the road a ways, he came back. He said he had forgotten his
pop, but I had already mentioned that to him. But, knowing his dad was
dying, he went over and said a few words to his dad, and I remember him saying I
love you to him.
After John died, my son said he hadn't told his dad he loved him so every
time he either talked to me on the phone or in person, he would tell me he
loved me. And he has. I tell the other two kids the same thing, so every time
we talk or see each other, we always end with "I love you". It may sound
glib, but I mean it with my heart. I never get tired of saying it or hearing
them say it.
