Address of New Hampshire residents, 10 Aug. 1692, asking equal privileges with Massachusetts. "Whereas your majesties have been
graciously pleased to settle the government of the Province of Massachusetts wherein (.........) we always hoped to have been included,
but finding it otherwise (.....) we are but four poor towns daily exposed from French and Indians enemies". This petition was circulated
outside before reaching Portsmouth, and did not reach Newcastle or Rye at all.

The petition survived only in a copy attested by W. Bridgeman (at Public Records Office in England, 5:924) most clearly written but by a clerk
who could not read all their signatures, so that the document contains imaginary persons.
