Am trying to find out which DILL my GG gm, Viola DAVIS b abt 1834,
probable dau of Simon DAVIS b abt 1802 and Sally ?? b abt 1803
(all residents of Lincoln in the 1850 Census), was married to between
1850 and 1854. And am trying to find Sally's maiden name / parents
and the parents of Simon DAVIS.
I find only one DILL family in Lincoln in 1850, so I think he is likely
one
of the sons of John DILL b abt 1799 and his wife, Rebecca ?? b abt 1801:
John, Jr b abt 1825
Charles b abt 1830
Hiram b abt 1831
Andrew b abt 1837
according to ages listed in the 1850 Census.
Another son, Warren H b abt 1828, was married to Clarissa D
b abt 1831 and they had a dau, Priscilla age 5/12 in the 1850 Census.
Mrs Viola DILL m 18 Feb 1855 George Washington TUCKER
according to Lee vital records. In the 1860 Lincoln Census, they
are listed:
TUCKER, George 28 Farmer
Viola 25
Mary J 4 Mary Jane "Jenny," my G gm,
she m Sylvester COLE of Greenwood
Francis 2 listed as male, this was "Sarah"
Frances,
1m MAXFIELD, 2m MOORE
Aunt Sarah's son, Frank "Harry" MAXFIELD, m Elvira E "Ellie" COLE,
dau of Mary Jane "Jenny" TUCKER and Sylvester COLE. They lived
Portland, ME.
Viola and George W TUCKER divorced aft the Civil War, and Viola
m Moses SWAN of Oxford Co (Greenwood / Woodstock area).
Lee vital records (vol 2) list Geo W TUCKER with the family of:
