This may be off the track, but in searching the Spencer families of Maine I saw several references to the name Lords being derived from the name Lortz, and that the first (or several) Lortz men came with German mercenaries hired by the British (which war?) and liked it here so much they didn't go back.
A first shot just now at looking for Lords on www.rootsweb.com/worldconnect/ turned up the web page in the attachment, which shows an early connection of Henry Lords, son of Heinrich Lortz, marrying a Spencer.
This line has been well researched, I believe, and would be a moderate task to verify or eliminate the possibility of a connection to your target.
