To Whom It May Interest:
James Landers and Mary ( McGuire) Landers moved to Bangor around
1831-1832. (Probably from Fredericton NB Canada) They had at least nine
children:
Margaret b:c1832, ME m:16 May 1858, James McCarron, Bangor
Catherine b:c1835, ME m:7 Sept 1870, Patrick Conway, Penobscot Co.
James b:c1837, ME m:21 Sep 1863, Anna F. Shawton, Bangor
Michael b:c1840, ME single in 1880, living with mother in Bangor
Henry b:c1841, ME with family in 1870, not in 1880
John b:c1844, ME with family in 1860, not in 1870 (maybe Civil War
death?)
Julia A. b:c1848, ME not in 1860 census (assume died young)
Maria b:c1849, ME not in 1860 census (assume died young)
Frances M. b:c1851, ME m:8 Sept 1873, John T. Curran, Bangor
Mysteries:
1) Who were the parents of James Landers and Mary McGuire and where
did they come from in Ireland?
2) What happened to Margaret (Landers) McCarron, James McCarron, and
their three children?
They had three children, Mary (1860), Frederick
(1862) and Charlie (1864). The children are listed next to the their
grandparents (Landers) in the 1870 census (no parents to be seen).
I can not find them in other years. Were they adopted?
3) What happened to Henry, John, Julia and Maria (presumably they
died).
This is what I have. I also have more on the descendants of John
Curran and Fanny Landers, and some on John Curran's ancestry.
