My ancestor Rev. John Wesley SOLOMON was a Methodist minister in 1852, now
where would he have gotten his training for the Alabama-West Georgia
Conference. He preached with the Rev. Dempsey Dowling and helped him
establish a number of Methodist churches in Dale County Alabama.
Where can I find out about him. He was born 27 Jun 1822 in Twiggs County
Georgia. He married Elizabeth COVINGTON in 1849. At least one of his sons
was a Methodist Minister, who helped found the First Methodist Church of
Houston Texas. Rev. SOLOMON ordained his son, he preformed his marriage
ceremony as well when he married Mamie ALLEN in 1875. Anyone doing research
on this family please let me know. I want to find the names of Rev. Emmett
W. SOLOMON'S children. John Wesley SOLOMON died on his wedding anniversary
16 May 1901.
