Dear Gen: The Archives are still closed. I do some research at the
library and on-line as much as possible, but a lot of
stuff has to wait for research at the Archives. I even joined the LDS
for $70. and have gotten pretty much nothing.
Roger: I thought I'd be real swift and call on Norman Cyr hoping for
more info - the joke was on me : } There is a Toronto Library book
of St. Boniface marriages, but it did me no good. We'll have to wait.
Since Norman and your sis live out there in Sarnia (I don't know how
close you are to your relations), town libraries have genealogical info,
and maybe they could do a look up for you. The book of Lovell's "
Province of Manitoba Directory" has something about Michel on page 683.
Our Toronto library had plenty of Lovell's Montreal Directories, so
maybe when I go back and with a little luck....
Serena: There is a book of Glengarry marriages in the library. I
didn't quite get through all of the McDonell's. There had to be about
250 McDonell marriages from that area alone. No Daniel James yet.
Kerry-Anne: As soon as the Archives are open, I might be able to get
him if born in Ontario. If he's born in Quebec, I can't do much if
anything at the Ontario Archives.
Linda G: Adam Armstrong: I'll need the archives for him for sure.
Lots of Methodist stuff iin the library, but I'm getting no where so
far.
I am still looking for other lines folks and I usually get a tidbit of
info for each one when I go to the library. My sister-in-law has to
pass the OPSEU strikers' lines every day, and she gets the feeling that
the strike will last about another month. Gads, I hope I get to Ottawa
before then as April and May are busy 'Scout' months for camps and
outings, and my calendar is filling up fast. Have a good week all. -
Christine
