What a great site! It looks to me that he writes of the diversity of his
mission and names them all. He lists the Coutenais as a tribe of their own
along with all the others. It would probably be the Kootenay tribe, with the
French spelling.

Very interesting. You will need your translators... Coutenais are part of
the Flat Head Tribe if I am reading the French correctly.
