OBITUARY OF LILY FLORENCE [nee Wall] STRANGE, written by her daughter Barbara Kennedy:
Lily Florence Wall born: July 22,1920 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan,Canada
Mother: ROSINA AGNES ST GERMAIN Father: ABRAHAM R.K.WALL
Lily was married to PERCY DOUGLAS STRANGE in Winnipeg, Manitoba; prior to her marriage December 17,1941 she worked for Government House, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, for two years. Prior to Government house, she worked as a professional maid.

She first lived in Fort Garry, Winnipeg, Manitoba and along with Bud (Percy Douglas ) she had four children: Barbara Gail, Carol Joyce, Norman Grant, and Donald Douglas.

She then became well known in the Professional Dog
Show Ring for her ribbons and wanting to be a winner. Along with Lily and her Great Dane LADY MARGRET they swept the house clean of every ribbon known in 1950, most important Mom took BEST OF BREED, SHOWMANSHIP, BEST OF WINNERS, PROVINCAL BEST OF BREED, SHOWMANSHIP, and WORKING GROUP, along with many other 1st place ribbons.
In 1950 she overcame the great flood in Winnipeg, in losing her home, and having to re-start. Lily and my father then split the family and moved west for a new start; she was known for her skills as a seamstress and often did designer clothes for Barbara and Carol.
Lily and Bud and the family then made their way to Alberta where she worked up North in Valleyview,Alberta, as a waitress; from there a move came to British Columbia. After her divorce she then worked for WACKENHUT SECURITY in Vancouver, British Columbia; and then went on into the world of dyalasis with the Vancouver Hospital ,Vancouver B.C., looking after a best friend .

She spent many hours with her grandson Michael and took up photography and started her own studio in her own home and the home of customers, she became known as FOTO LILY. She had a love of making her own wine at home and always agreed the liqour store sold bad stuff as she always would say.

For thirty years she would go with daughter Barbara to give support in Barbara's needlework competitions; she loved the Rodeo and the Aboriginal shows and needlework. She then learned the quest of genealogy and with the help of her daughter Carol she got her first lessons.
Barbara worked on her Mother's Side, while Carol did her Father's Side.
With all of this the telephone never stopped, as Carol and Barbara found the family she longed for and never knew.

Lily is survived with two sons: Norman and Donald, two daughters: Barbara and Carol, Six Grand children and 12 Great Grand children, son-in-laws: Gordon Thomas Kennedy and Ronald Allen; numerous 1st, 2nd, 3rd cousins etc.; and her sister Ida
She was predeceased by her husband Bud June 2000; and her mother ROSINA AGNES, and her father ABRAHAM RK WALL; and her only Brother Jacob (BUSTER) WALL; with nieces and nephews.

Lily died of heart complications, pneumonia, and a long battle of COPD.
Lily will be interred on January 04 , 2007 at the Victory Memorial Gardens, White Rock, British Columbia at 1:00 P.M. with her daughter Barbara and son Norman at her side, to represent the family. On her plaque shall read " A PROUD METIS FROM BATOCHE"

Honorably I shall remain and remember her, as her daughter Barbara. In citing a quote from the Legion, "WE SHALL REMEMBER THEM", I stand before you in the grace of God to call my Mother Home as her standing restful journey.
BARBARA GAIL KENNEDY
