Hi Folks,
Is anyone aware of the 49th Rangers ? This is a group of Metis men assembled in 1873 at Fort Dufferin, Manitoba. They were hired as Armed Scouts/Escorts for the Boundary Commission while surveying the 49th Parallel between Lake of the Woods and the Rockies.
Do you have any stories of them ? Clipped articles ? copies of maps ? Oral history ?
Anything about them is greatly appreciated.
