Eliza Ann Whitten (John) was born on 26 Jul 1820 in Newburgh, Penobscot Co, ME. She died on 13 Nov 1909 in Ong, Clay Co, NE. Her father was John Whitten, born in 1790/1800 in ME
Eliza married (1) Nehemiah Gowen son of [Asa] Gowen on 2 Feb 1847 in Unity, Waldo Co, ME. Eliza's place of residence at marriage to Nehemiah was listed as Unity, ME. The marriage information was obtained from the Maine Marriage Index (1743-1891).

Nehemiah was born in 1810 in Montville, Lincoln Co, ME. He died in 1855/1858 in Palermo, Waldo Co, ME.
Nehemiah and Eliza had the following children:
1 M i. John Gowen was born in 1848 in Palermo, ME.
2 M ii. George Riley Gowen was born on 27 Feb 1849 in Palermo, ME. He died on 4 Jan 1933 in Ong, Clay Co, NE. He was buried in Ong City Cm, Clay Co. (George was my g-grandfather).
3 M iii. Erastus L. Gowen "Rastus" was born about 1854 in ME.
4 M iv. Oliver W. Gowen was born in Jun 1856 in ME. He died after 1930 in Clay Co, NE.
After her first husband died, Eliza married Daniel Lenfest and moved to Nebraska. Her son, Lee Lenfest, owned the house where George Riley Gowen (her son) lived with his family, and bought it from Lee.

Seeking information (any) about Nathan Whitten, son of Ivory Whitten. I believe he was married at least three times and had children by at least the first two wives. Any assistance is appreciated.
