My wife has a couple of lines from York County, Maine who later
showed up in Waldo County, especially the area around Prospect. Some of
the names are Trevett, Curtis, Clark, Field, Staples and Mellen. The
Curtis family came from Wells. While tracking down these guys, I
discovered that there are 1790 and 1800 census listings on the Waldo
County site on RootsWeb -- go to
<http://www.rootsweb.com/~mewaldo>, and look for Hancock County info.
This was before Waldo County was created. There are some Littlefields
-- from Wells -- in the 1800 listings for Frankfort, ME. I didn't check
the other towns very carefully. I would be surprised if your Waldo
County Littlefields were not descended from William. If so, you are a
cousin to my wife, for she has a couple of very early Littlefield lines
(back in Wells, before any of them migrated to Waldo County.
Hope this helps/
