Subject: Waldo County: WILKINS in 1700's "Maine"

Hello,

I have been reminded that I had received information from helpful people a
couple of years ago. And I was told that the name, WILKINS, does not show
up in the "Vital Records" of Unity. So, far, I only know that they are
in Unity in 1810 and 1820.

(I went to the archives of the List this morning to see when I had posted
the queries, and it was 3 to 5 years ago.) (As I said to another List
last night, "time sure flies !")

The mid-1700's in "Maine" is sure a difficult thing to research !
William WILKINS and his wife, and Samuel WILKINS and his wife, could have
been in "any" town in the Northern Territory of MA, or in MA, and could have
been in MA records. But, I've posted queries there, also.

Thank you for past and present responses !

I'll go with my "educated guesses."

Have a pleasant weekend !

Betty (near Lowell, MA)

A summary of what I need:

Birth of Samuel, and birth of his 5 children

Marriage of Samuel and Electra

Death of William, and earlier death of Sarah

Possible deaths of 2 of their children

(thinking maybe Sarah might have died as a result of childbirth - with
Samuel - ~1775)

P.S. The book, "A Midwife's Tale" has been recommended on the Lists
for many years. (It became a movie.) Because of my WILKINS and MAINE
ancestors, I bought myself a copy of the book. Unfortunately, I'm not a
big book-reader (for several reasons), and I didn't get past the few
couple of chapters. But, those first couple of chapters were very
informative ! "Life was hard !" I think there is a book or two on
the "history of the Kennebec River" and those are probably very
informative, also. From the first book, I didn't realize that in the
1700's ships were able to travel up that river !

You can't hurry ... genealogy !
