Hello,

I get the "daily news" from the "Bangor newspaper" every day in an e-mail.
Today there is an article about the closing of the Stinson Seafood Sardine
Plant in Belfast.

You don't see the surname, STINSON, on the Lists too often, but a quick
check at www.familysearch.org shows that the name appears in Maine from
at least the early 1800's, and is in many other states.

The article says that there used to be dozens of "cannerys" (sp?) in
Maine, and during the industry's peak years 300 million sardine tins were
created per year. And, we don't see the cannery mentioned on the Lists
too often.

Here are a few sites which discuss Belfast:

Just an FYI for you. I do not have STINSON on my family-tree.
