May I add another example to Marilyn's? My grandparents, Lincoln Card
and Christina McLean, spent their whole married life in Milltown, Maine
and were buried in Calais, Maine, but when I sent to Augusta for their
death certificates, I was told they didn't have any for them. Then I
remembered hearing that the family doctor was in St. Stephen, NB. I
requested New Brunswick death certificates and received them with no
problems. People go back and forth across the border as if it isn't
there.
