Land patents are searchable online at http://www.glorecords.blm.gov .
There is a record listed for a William Willis. However, I wasn't able to
load the image record of the patent. The website may be having temporary
problems. The patent was issued at the Detroit office in 1855. Listing shows
Sanilac, don't know if this is residence or where property of patent is?
