be able to get copies. - Penny

Hello Cousins,
I just found out thru Holy Cross Cemetery that my grandmother and her twin
babies were "entitled to a Christian Burial according to the rites of the
Roman Catholic Church from this parish" in 1926. I have a copy of the Parochial
Certificate of Death from St. Boniface Church in Detroit.
I can't tell you what a find this is for me!! My grandparents were married
"in the church" in Bay City, but I never knew if she converted to
Catholicism. This tells me that she did and it tells me that the twins were baptized.
This is so amazing to me because my mother could never find a baptismal
certificate for herself. So I'm thinking perhaps she was baptized at St.
Boniface.
My mother is gone now, but I would like to get my hands on her baptismal
certificate and her mother's. My mother's baptism would have taken place in
1923.
I just looked on line for St. Boniface Church in Detroit and it appears that
the church closed in 1989. Two things: can someone give me further
direction and/or can someone go to the Detroit Public Library for me and check the
Catholic church microfilms? All expenses paid of course.
Any and all help most appreciated.
Sincerely,
Sue Castanier Schroeder
