Found Thompson Family in 1850 Census in Calhoun CO. Caleb and Clarissa Thompson. 1860, 1870 and 1880 census found them in Barry CO. Children were Charles (1847), Clarinda(1850) and Cornelia (1852). Moved to MI from NY around 1847. The dates, place and surname all fit for my grandmother only we have always known her as CARLINDA not Clarinda. Her name was spelled Clarinda on both the 1850 and 1860 census. I have hunted and can find no other spelling than CARLINDA here in Indiana. She came to Lake CO. with her family in 1864. She married Oliver Surprise of Lake Co. in 1866. Her parents were back in MI by the 1870 census. I'm looking for any descendants of Charles (who married a Mary E.) or Cornelia or anyone who can help me know for sure that this was her family.
