Mrs. Hazel Nunemaker - Hickory Corners, age 87, passed away suddenly, early Wednesday (Nov 17, 1976) morning at her home. Mrs. Nunemaker was born January 11, 1889, in Barry Township, the daughter of Frank and Sarah Tungate Town and lived most of her life in the Hickory Corners area. She was employed at Eatons of Battle Creek during World War II. She was a member of the Hickory Corners United Methodist Church, Prudence Nobles Chapter No. 366 OES and held several offcies in the chapter. She was also a member of the Hickory Corners American Legion Auxiliary where she was a past president, a member of the 8 and 40 and the Hickory Corners Birthday Club. She was married to Boyd Tolles, who passed away in 1915. In 1919, she was married to Percy Nunemaker, who preceded her in death in 1934. Following his death, she owned and operated Town’s Grocery & Meat Market in Hickory Corners for many years. Surviving are one son, Russell Tolles of 2747 Star School Road, Hastings!
; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A son, Wilbur Tolles, preceded her in death in 1960. Friends are being received at the Williams Funeral Home, Delton, where services will be held Friday at 2 p.m., with Rev. Matthew Walkotten officiating. Interment in East Hickory Corners Cemetery.
