Mrs. Arola REED - 1604 North Michigan, Hastings, Formerly of Kalamazoo, passed away suddenly this morning, December 3, (1975) at Pennock Hospital, Hastings. Mrs. REED was born August 1, 1899, daughter of Martin and Ada BARKHUFF in Cloverdale, Michigan. Graduated from Central High School in Kalamazoo, moving to Hastings in 1933. She was a member of Hastings Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Her husband, Bernard R., preceded her in death December 3, 1953. They owned and operated the Reed Pharmacy, Hastings. Surviving are 1 daughter, Mrs. James (Cyntheal) CUSHMAN, Kalamazoo; 1 son, Robert B. REED of Sturgeombay (sic), Wisconsin; 4 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held from the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Hastings, Friday at 11 a.m., Father Wayne C. Olmstead officiting. Burial Riverside Cemetery, Hastings, Michigan. Friends may call at after 2:30 p.m., Thursday at the Girrbach Funeral Home, 328 S. Broadway, Hastings. Remains will lie in state!
