HILL, Donald F. Age 85
Of Hastings
Formerly of Gun Lake
Passed away September 17, 2007 at his residence. Donald was born April 30, 1922 in Norfield, Minnesota, the son of Charles Frederick Hill and Helma (Johnson) Hill. He was a veteran of WW II, serving his country in the U.S. Navy. For over 15 years he was a deputy on the Kalamazoo and Barry County Sheriff Department. Donald was also involved in the trucking industry for over thirty years. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion in Wayland. Donald enjoyed fishing, flower gardening, and most importantly his grandchildren and great- grandchildren. On March 28, 1975, he married Josephine Heth and she preceded him in death on March 27, 2004. He is survived by children, Marion and Frank Scuttichio, Marte and Richard Roach, Carole (Hill) Wartella, Charles and Pat Hill, Lori and Dan Blair, Liz and Jim Schmidt, Dale and Cindy Roach, Charles Roach, Yvonne (Roach) and Robert Holmes; 30 grandchildren; several great- grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in dea!
th by his parents; wives, Marcy Dell and Betty Lou; brothers, John, Clarence and Milton; sisters, Beatrice, Eleanor, Mildred, Ilene and Betty. The family will receive friends Thursday 1:00 to 3:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Prairieville Bible Church, 12711 S. M-43 Highway, Delton, where funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 21, 2007 1:00 PM, Pastor Larry Saunders, officiating. Interment will take place in Ft. Custer National Cemetery on Tuesday, September 25, 2007. Memorial contributions to Borgess Visiting Nurse and Hospice Services or the Praireiville Bible Church will be appreciated. The family is being served by the Williams-Gores Funeral Home, Delton.
