EGGERT, Martha 1866-1953 Bay City, Michigan. She was most probably the wife of my great-granduncle, Friedrich Marquardt. I THINK "BAVARIAN 62" HAS HER BIRTHPLACE WRONG, but his aol address doesn't work anymore. Feel free to contact me. In any case, neither she nor anyone else was born in "Buchenwald" before the 1930s. The place name is difficult to read in the church books. It is in reality "Buchwalde". The whole name of the place was "Königlich Buchwalde" in the county "Kreis Marienwerder" in the state of "Westpreussen" (West Prussia). Needless to say, this state does not exist anymore, as it was incorporated into Poland. The church books for Königlilch Buchwalde are supposed to be in the Mormon archives - my next port of call in this matter.
