Hi Rick,
Never heard about the New Buffalo High School forum - but then I did not go
to High School in Berrien County. Hope others on the list found your post
interesting, perhaps there are people who did go to NBHS who can now join in!

I am not sure about Slaters in Berrien County after the 1920's or so. Ruth
Moore Slater's obit says that she (and Jeremiah Slater) had nine sons and
three daughters. Off the top of my head I only know of 4 the names of
Slater sons -- Henry, James, Nathaniel and Benjamin. James and Benjamin
died without children. Henry I know little or nothing about, but I think
he died before the father - so I do not know if he had any
children. Nathaniel had a son George, from his obit, an his family lived
in Buchanan in the late 1800's and early 1900's..... My ancestor was
daughter Elizabeth Eleanor Slater Coleman Rose, through her son William
Ellsworth Coleman.

Anyway, I would love to add the later generations of Slaters, but I have
not dug around to establish any connections with later generations. That
is the great thing about computer genealogy programs though -- if you find
them, they are easy to keep track of!!

Thanks for the info.

Dorothy
