VOSBURG, Allen E. Vosburg

Of Burlington, MI

Died Thursday, September 28, 2006 at his residence. He was born February 2, 1932 in Charleston Township, to Merle E. and Neva M. (Hall) Vosburg. He was raised in Climax, MI and graduated from Climax High School. He lived in Climax until moving to Burlington in 1968. Allen was employed by the Battle Creek Fire Department 40 years and by Burlington Township Fire Department 25 years. During those years, he wore many hats, Burlington Fire Chief and Battle Creek Battalion Chief. He was married in Athens, MI, to Janice Lindsey Smith on March 1, 1968. Surviving are his wife of 38 years; children. Allen E. (Cheryl) Vosburg Jr., Jim Vosburg of Burlington, Jerry (Char) Vosburg of Gobles, Sam (Bobbie) Vosburgh of Battle Creek, Paul (Julie) Vosburg of White Pigeon, Robyn (John) Royer of Bellevue, Nancy (Brian) Metz of Muskegon, Robert L. (Pam) Smith of Battle Creek, Wes (Mary) Smith of Battle Creek, Norman (Brenda) Smith of Burlington; a brother, Jan (Nellie) Vosburg of Climax; a sister!
, Ellen May (Keith) Ball of Battle Creek; several grandchildren and great- grandchildren; and special cousins, Ralph and Bruce Bates. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kenneth Vosburg; and two infant daughters, Irene and Phyllis. At the request of the family, friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the
