Subject: Looking for ancestors & descendants of Charles Everet Sammons amd Elizabeth Cranson of Cheboygan

I hope someone can help me, From what I have found out Charles Everet Sammons and Elizabeth Cranson were my paternal great grandparents. This I found from my grandfathers social security application. Their son, my grandfather was Maynard Samuel Sammons born on January 27, 1903 in Cheboygan, Michigan. Died in July 1972 in Florida.
I have come to a dead end I haven't been able to find anymore information on them or any other ancestors. I was told by my grandfather that we were related to Jacob Sammons, of Cheboygan.
Does anyone have any information on his parents or anything that would help me? I'm new at this.
