Burt's Close seems to have been another name for Warden's Close, or for
an eastwards extension of Wardens Close.
This close is on the south side of the Grassmarket, at the east end,
exactly where the main line of buildings of that side of the Grassmarket
bends round into Cowgatehead, and leads into Candlemaker Row and the
Cowgate. The line of Warden's points directly towards the Bow Foot Well,
at the bottom of West Bow, which stands in the middle of the road, and
confuses visiting motorists who sometimes can't work out which side they
should go round!
It is highly unlikely that you'll find Burt's on a map, but it is
apparently mentioned in the Post Office Directory of 1827. Warden's Close
should be much easier to find.
