I have recently made progress with this branch of the family but other
listers may be able to add more "flesh to the bones" as it were.

Robert SYMINGTON b about 1784 Lauder, married Janet MURRAY of Stow in
Humbie in 1816. They had twin daughters Betsy (Elizabeth) & Margaret
christened Nov 1818 and Mary ch Apr 1821 in Humbie. I have not found
the family again until 1851 when Janet had died, Robert, Margaret and
Elizabeth are in Easterton Stow. Mary is a servant in 1841 to John
LAWSON of Humbie Mains but her family are not on the available cenus
for Humbie.

Elizabeth had an illigitemate dau Janet in 1839 (reportedly in Stow) but
is not listed on the 1841 census or in the parish records there. She
later had an Alexander COCKBURN who in 1891 lists his birth as Easterton
BERWICK about 1854 but which still alludes me. This Alexander married
Georgina BRIDGES at Crichton in 1875.
Margaret married Thomas YOUNG in 1853 in Stow but died in Edgerton ROX
in 1861.

What is even more interesting is a marr of a Mary SYMINGTON to an
Alexander COCKBURN in Crichton in Dec 1847 (OPRs). Is it possible that
Elizabeth had a child to this Alexander or a sibling?

Any help to unravel the above mysteries or add children to the couples
would be welcomed.
