Didn't catch the original post re Jane Nelson, but I have Nelsons in my
family tree, including a Jane Nelson born Inveresk 10th April 1821, parents
George Nelson & Alison Corner.
George Nelson was born in Cranston in 1791. Any connection?

As you say Jane Nelson or Nielson( note spelling) married James Bowie or
Bowy in 9 9 1837 in Newbattle Midlothian.They had
Katerine born 3 Feb 1838 in Newbattle
Also Alexander born 23 Mar 1840 in Newbattle.
At the moment I don't know if both died in Scotland? before the
emigration.which happened after 1840
I did find a Jane Nelson Similar dates,born close to Newbattle & died &
interred in Beaver County UT
