I looked at a film today of the 1841 census for Duddingston. I found a family much as I expected except for the female adult's name. I was looking for Jemima, but found instead a name hard to work out. The person who did the index rendered it as Barney. The first letter does look like a B, but could also possibly be an M.

Has anyone heard of a Jemima being called something like Miemey?
