Howden, owned in 1824 by Lord Torpichen appears in a wee! Plan of size 128x76cm. Look at any
modern map of Scotland at National Grid Coords NT0567. If you email me direct I'll convert that
to longitude/ latitude so's you may use the Readers' Digest World Atlas etc.

Most Estate Records were private to the owners and there was and is no <compulsion> that these
be archived. Example, my own CAMERON ancestral estate records are owned by a MACKENZIE who now
lives in England, and he did not respond to my request that he donate the contents of the Deed
Chest to the Scottish record Office.
His mother (in Scotland) referred to that Deed Chest in 1990 conversation I had with her at
Croftnabual, Upper Ardnagrask.
Go to the Map Room at West Register House, Edinburgh. Look also in West Calder records, the
major estates seem to have "spilled over" into the next Parish!!
