Hi Shona,
Not sure which Hogg families you're researching, but I've collected
these over a period time - only because they married into one of the
Duncan families in the Pencaitland / Gladsmuir / Newtown area. Hope
they're useful to you:
Birth of William Duncan 7 Aug 1815 - father Henry Duncan, mother Irene
(or Jean) Hogg (sorry don't have a location, but the film would have
been East Lothian.
marriage 15 Oct 1824 - William Hogg, collier of Newtown and Jane Duncan
of Gladsmuir
Births - parents are Henry Duncan and Jean Hogg (possibly the Irene/Jean
named above)
12 June 1806 - George Duncan
8 Nov 1808 James Duncan
5 Mar 1813 Peter Duncan
5 Nov 1817 John Duncan
Marriage of James Duncan, Collier, Newtown to Jane Hogg, Gladsmuir 22
Mar 1826
and their children
William - 26 Aug 1827
Jane - 5 Nov 1829
John - 25 May 1832
James - 2 Jul 1834
Isabella - 1 Jul 1838
John - 6 Sept 1840
George - 20 Dec 1842
I've also got an OPR registration as follows
parish of Pencaitland, county of Haddington
Hogg and Gibs - 15th Oct 1836 James Hogg and Helen Gib (could be Gibs)
Colliers Newtown were proclaimed before this Congregation in order to
marriage -
Were married 4th Nov 1836
Hope these are of use to you.
