Where is there the slightest evidence to make you say that?
Lived in Edinburgh from 1945 till 1971 in what was described in the
1970's as "the worst slums in Eorope" and never experienced these
gangs. My one certainly recruited from all sources. I suppose nowadays
it would be considered multicultural!
I had heard from relatives that in the 70s there were gangs of youths
in central Edinburgh who would enquire what school you attended or
what football team you supported. Is that it?
