Research shows that my GGGGrandfather, David Hughes, was a "Horsehirer in Pleasance" I haven't been able to identify exactly where that would have been in the late 1700s. There seems to be a street or small area in Edinburgh, but there is also an indication that it might have been a town between Edinburgh and Haddington. Can anyone confirm this location for me?
