Hi Mark,

The PARGILLIES seems to have been a rare breed & may even be extinct!
I found one Janet PARGILLIES who was mother to James WHITE who married Jane
KINGHORN (K's are my line) in Leith in 1868. He was aged 40 at the time so
his mother was presumably born in the region of 1800.

AS there was a significant amount of countryside between Edinburgh & Cramond
until recently, it must have been a separate entity at the time you speak
of.

Best wishes,
Sheena Ireland

1. Pargillies in Crammond (Fisher (Holiday Enterprise) Ltd)

Hi folks,
Does any other members of the list have ancestors
with this unusual surname Pargillies and can anyone add to my current
knowledge. Can some of you Edinburgh scholars confirm if at that time
Crammond was a separate burgh outside the city of Edinburgh or had it been
swallowed up by the capital even then?
Mark
