Dear List Members,

I am hoping that someone may be able to help me.

I think that I may have found a marriage announcement for my ancestors in
the above magazine. I am not sure about the date of the publication but I
think it may be 1798. The announcement is I think for either the marriage
or engagement of Alexander FRASER and Bathia CLUBB and is on page 319. I do
know that they were married before 1800.

As I have been unable to find the actual entry of marriage in the OPR for
Fraserburgh in Aberdeen I would be extremely grateful if there was someone
who was able to look up the entry for me and confirm the details or perhaps
even scan it for me.

Also, I am slightly puzzled as to why the announcement would appear in an
Edinburgh Magazine. At this stage I don’t know who Alexander’s parents are.
One theory is that he may have been apprenticed to a legal firm in Edinburgh
before moving to Fraserburgh.

If there is anyone who can help me it would be appreciated.
