Hello, everyone,

Can anyone please assist with further information on an Alexander Fraser THOMSON? My present knowledge is rather hazy but perhaps someone will recognise the names concerned.

He was married, aged 25, in 1866 in Edinburgh to a Henrietta McLean. His parents were William Thomson, Crofter and Jane nee Duncan. Alexander at the time was a Police Constable.

They moved to America in the early 1870s, settling in Illinois. He then returned on his own to Glasgow where he was supposed to have died in the 1880s. I cannot find a relevant death. This is a very common name and I am hoping that someone else may have information on this gentleman and his final whereabouts and where he may be buried.
