Hi All,My post on is this true?I was amazed on the amount
of responses I had.Quite a few people suggested all of this was a myth.Fair enough, but when we look for a family connection we demand proof.Yet what passes for social history we seem to dismiss or accept on personal choice.
A lady sent me what some would dismiss as accepted myth,
yet a lot of what I read seemed totally believable.I actually thought the one on pewter reacting with the acidity of tomatoes was totally believable! Also, the one on scratches on the inside of the coffin and a bell ringer-proving the person was dead etc.Am I gullible?I am sure I saw a prog. on Discovery backing this one up.Here in Irl.I know for a fact thats where the term an Irish wake comes from. You play music and basically party with the coffin in the corner.I believe this comes from grave robbers seeing coffins with scratches on the inside.Same thing happened in WW11.If we are to demand proof to accept something I believe we should demand the same level of proof to dismiss the same. Then again I may have had a few too many!Good luck,Kevin.
