Subject: Good News Herefordshire Archives age going to accept Credit & Debit cards
Date: Fri, 24 Feb 2006 13:50:04 -0000
Hi all,
I just thought I'd pass on the good news, having just been informed by one of
the councillors at Herefordshire Council today. After a little campaign by
myself of writing emails to Herefordshire Councillors about the stupidity of
the archaic payment methods at Herefordshire Archives and the good news is,
its worked.Herefordshire Archives are now going to accept credit and debit
card payments. This will cut out the need for people living abroad to pay for
expensive foreign currency drafts and also make payment easier for us here
in the United Kingdom.I'd certainly recommend other people, to encourage
their local council, to get there relevant Archive departments to do the
same.Just go to your relevant council web site and email your local
councillors explaining the benefits to them. As many Archives often have
uncertainty about there funding, with the current awakening of popular
interest in family history this is a perfect way for them to encourage
popular take up and at the same time increase the money going into there
coffers.
Best regards
