Hello:
My family is also researching LEWIS in Abergavenny.
Our Lewis is Barbara Ellen Lewis. She went by Lillie Lewis. Lilly was born in Feb 1862, in we believe, Abergavenny, South Wales. She married JOHN ANDREW BENNETT in abt. 1870. They had 7 children in PA, OH & WV. She died 8 Sept 1920, Sebring, Mahoning County, OH and is buried at the Allianance Cemetery.
I found your email to be very interesting considering the same last name and the town/village of birth. Probably a long shot, but what the hay.
Hope to hear from you,
Judy

Hi,
I am new to the list and also posting a message for a friend who has not
tried asking for help from your mailing list before. Thanks very much
in advance for any help anyone might be able to offer.
Best wishes,

Seeking information about an Elizabeth Lewis born in Abergavenny
approximately 1821.
Please can someone help me. I am trying to find the birth details and
family of my GG Grandmother Elizabeth Lewis born approximately 1821 in
Abergavenny.
She married my GG Grandfather, Isaac/Izaac Morris in either the late
1830s or early 1840s and they had a son, David born in 1843 in Narberth
Pembrokeshire.,
a daughter, Emma, born in Swansea in 1845, daughter Elizabeth born in
1847 in Aberavon as were twin sons, Jacob and Robert in 1949. Elizabeth
died in 1862 in Aberavon. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who
might be researching a Lewis family who has an Elizabeth Lewis who might
be my G G G Grandmother as I am trying to find out if her husband, Isaac
was Polish and have hit a brick wall being unable to establish their
marriage or any other information about them from the census apart from
some bmd information of their children. Isaac's occupation was also
listed as "Jew" on a certificate and I wondered if anyone had come
across either a Jewish marriage or an Isaac Morris and Elizabeth Lewis
marrying in Abergavenny or the surrounding area.
Thanks very much for any help and I look forward to hearing from anyone
who might have the smallest piece of information which might be relevant.
Best wishes,
John.
