Yep I can remember sitting and watching the Thanksgiving Football game a time
or two in the cold and snow.
Can remember swimming in the YMCA pool also. Its funny you mention the dime
stores. After I went to bed last night. I got to thinking about the one
next door or close to the ole penny arcade. Thinking back to those days ole
most makes me think it was more like an ole country store with the saw dust
on the floor. Of course it wasnt. Just made me think that is the way it
was. Is the old Durant Hotel still there and in use or is it long gone. It
seems like there was another close by on Detroit street perhaps called the
Miller and it faced on Detroit St and it seems like aro9und the corner from
it there was a resturant my mother would takes us kids to for a good ole
plate of Fish and Chips. They dont even call it that anymore that I know of.
They had to jazz them up and call them fries now days.
