Having just gone this route (mailing $12 to the Genesee Co. Clerk) and
having it returned with the note to send $26 to Lansing, I thin possibly the
date of the one I wanted was the reason. It is from 1895. Obviously I
would have preferred to pay $12 and have had back luck or rather no luck
with Lansing in this regard.
