La base des mariages de 1763 à 1900 est impressionnante. Une simple demande
sur deux patronymes qui me sont chers, Danis (issu du mariage de Perrine
Lapierre et Honoré Danis-Tourangeau) et Richardville (issu du mariage de Claude
Drouet de Richardville et M-J Desrosiers), deux familles dont certaines
branches sont de sang mêlé, me donnent environ une dizaine de références à chaque
fois.

I was very lucky with the Statewide Marriages Index. I've just tried with
two families, the Danis and the Richardville - from New-France and before
France - which some links was metis, and I've found about 10 records for the two
families.

Je vous rappelle que les Illinois sont au XVIIIe siècle, la partie de la
Nouvelle-France que l'on appelle les Pays d'en-Haut et qui font la jonction, via
les Grands Lacs et les fleuves (St-Louis, Mississippi...) avec la
Haute-Louisiane. De nombreux forts français s'y trouvent autour desquels se forment des
villages : Poste St-Philippe des Illinois (La Visitation), St-Louis des
Illinois, Fort de Chartres (Ste-Anne), Prairie du Rocher (St-Joseph), Kaskaskia
(Notre-Dame de la Conception), Cahokia (Ste-Famille)...

May I have to remain you that the Illinois countries was part of the
New-France before the American Revolution ? Lots of French forts was built and many
french settlers came to built villages around there.

De nombreux mariages inter-ethniques eurent lieu ds ces contrées éloignées.

One can not negociate with love or material interests and many inter-ethnics
marriages, with natives or blacks, was celebrated.
