My husband's family (the Irish side) were living in the area of
Charlestown, Suffolk Co, Massachusetts in the early-mid 1860's.
Sometime between 1865-1867, they moved to SanFrancisco, CA. I'm curious
how what 'routes' were used during those years to make this type of
journey. Or was it more likely to go by ship.
