Donald and Catherine McDonald, both Canadian-born, are shown in the 1860 census in Dwight Township and in 1870 in Port Austin. After that there is not a trace of them in the area. Where did they go?
Where in Canada were they from? Donald was of Scottish descent & Catherine was of German descent. Their daughter Mary Jane McDonald Scahill Harden died in Port Huron in 1930. They also had children Sarah, Charles E., Arabella (Bell), William H., David & George. Where did they all go? there first child, Washington, was born in Canada but was a fisherman with his father, Donald, and he drowned in Lake Huron in the 1870s.
