there is only one problem with this, yes it is great to make the book etc
and to raise funds for ongoing projects, they are all needed and
appreciated.
but, the genealogy societies are finding out that their publicitations etc.
are taking too long and even longer to get any responses back. so with the
invention of the internet which is quicker for both, then the internet is
becoming the better.
not everyone can wait due to time limits etc, they want the quick replys to
carry on further in family searching
also if the names etc. are listed, i'm sure there is still a way to sell
info that they have, fees for lookups etc.
further say, 2-3-5 years down the road, someone joins the list at rootsweb
and the do a surname search they can find out where to go for further info
and who is doing similar research
it is only a suggestion, and possibly not feasible. what ever, it is good
to do this project, must start somewhere, and go from there.
