Audrey was the 1931 Valedictorian at Lowell High school, attended MSU. During the third term of her second year at MSU, the Great Depression hit. Banks were closed , and funds from her father's estate were lost, so she was never able to complete her education. She worked 10 years at Lowell business office and began working as a Federal Civil servant in 1947, where she spent 26 years and retired in 1972. Audrey divorced James Topp in 1944. She moved back and lived in the same house as her grandparents did in Lowell, MI.
NEWS ARTICLE: Mrs. James Topp, Jr., left Saturday, Oct. 17, to join her husband in Pontiac where he has employment. She gave up her position in Runciman Elevator office in Lowell. As a going away gift, Mr. Runciman and employees presented her with a chest of silver. May the best of luck go with them in their new home.
