they have a nice walk through museum set up with items of the time...a street in the UP 1880/1900's....
very nice...
they have their own card catalogue with some obits that have been collected. (in their office)..
they have wonderful wall boards with clips and photos...which you might find very usefull.....(bring a camera with a light to illuminate them better...
.and
a wonderful exhibit of mining ....
plus a bunch of log houses /cabins moved to the property which you can view after hours...

well worth the visit.....
ask for marcia......or hubby.....
(they are both walking reference books)

send them a chart for their collection......

and...re the reporter... i think they have the papers available to you at the reporter office...check there....

Subject: [MIIRON] Iron County Museum

Hi,
I'm thinking I may escape the big city this weekend and go up to Iron County. I called the Iron County Museum and they said they will be open July 4 and then on July 6. Does anyone know what specific genealogy resources they have that are useful? I'm specifically hoping they have issues of the Reporter or other newspapers to look at obituaries. Also wondering what else they have?
Thanks,
Char
