I am looking for anyone researching the Mankowski or Dembinski surname in Jackson, MI. My 3rd great grandparents, John Mankowski and Frances Dembinska settled in Jackson in 1883 when they arrived from Prussia. The family lived in Jackson for 5 years before moving to Erie, PA. The story I have been told from family members is that John and Frances joined family members in Jackson when they first arrived in America. Unfortunately I do not know if the family members they met up with were from the Mankowski or Dembinski side.
